Alvaro Morata admits that he is still adapting to Premier League football

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has admitted that he is still adapting to the Premier League despite making a strong start to his Blues' career.

The Spain international could not convert a crucial penalty in the Community Shield loss to Arsenal, but he has since turned it around with two goals in three league outings.

The 24-year-old has had the odd blunder with an open header missed at Tottenham Hotspur, but overall, the former Real Madrid star appears to have found his feet in the English top flight. Speaking to the club's official website, Morata was pleased to have provided a goal and assist in the 2-0 triumph over Everton, and he is 'very happy' to ply his trade for the Blues.

CHELSEA MISS OUT ON COMMUNITY SHIELD

The Gunners showed what the forthcoming season might hold as they defeated the Blues to lift the Community Shield. The FA Cup champions defeated the league title holders in a penalty shootout 4-1 after the 1-1 score line at Wembley Stadium.

Antonio Conte was without stars John Terry, Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic while Arsene Wenger played striker Alexandre Lacazette. Sead Kolasinac was not in the starting line-up but he came on in the first half when Gary Cahill elbow pushed Per Mertesacker out of action. The former Lyon man had the best chance of the half when he hit the framework.

The France international joined the Gunners from Lyon earlier this month after they finalised a £52.3m deal with the Ligue 1 outfit.

Luiz spent two seasons away at Paris Saint-Germain between 2014 and 2016 where he came face-to-face with Lacazette, and the centre-back admits that it was always tough handling the 25-year-old striker.

Thibaut Courtois’ Agent in Regular Contact with Real Madrid

The agent of Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has confirmed that he is updating his clients’ status with Champions League holders Real Madrid.

The Belgium international made a couple of key saves during the course of last season as the Blues clinched their fifth Premier League title. Courtois is currently contracted to the west London club until the summer of 2019, and he is said to have stalled on a proposed extension as he looks to earn a significant rise on his current wages.
