Mourinho Enjoying Return To Premier League

José Mourinho has stated that he has enjoyed his return to the Premier league despite not winning any major trophy this year. The Portuguese boss is set to end his second consecutive year without a trophy, as the blues dropped out of contention for the league title and the Champions League in the final few weeks of the season. Mourinho came back to Chelsea with big expectations. He also tried to implement a lot of new things at the club. However, they will be only finishing third in the table for all their hard work.

Mourinho, though, sees this as a major improvement from the last campaigns. Chelsea struggled to finish in the top four for the last two seasons, despite winning the Champions League, Europa league, and FA Cup during this period.
Mourinho has confirmed that the club will not be celebrating their third place finish and also reaching the semifinals of the Champions League. Instead, the club will be starting the rebuilding work for the next campaign immediately.

Chelsea still have the opportunity to finish second in the table when they take on Cardiff on the final day of the season. However, this depends upon results from elsewhere going their way.

"Obviously I have enjoyed most of the things that have happened. I don't enjoy defeats but I have to say, for example, to lose at Crystal Palace is English football. To lose at Newcastle in spite of having a good first half, that's football, that's English football. But to lose like we did against Sunderland or against Aston Villa is not English football and I like English football, I don't like what isn't English football. What happens, happens. The past is not the best way to prepare for the future,” said Mourinho, who was earlier fined by the English FA.
