CONTE TO GET NEW DEAL

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is set to get a new deal from the club after an impressive debut season.

The former Italian national team coach is poised to lead the Blues to yet another Premier League title at the end of this term. They sit ten points clear at the top of the log, with barely 11 games to go.

The manager has had his ups ad down even in his short stint. He revealed that his family was still in Italy and were missing him even though they are set to join him during the summer in London.

Chelsea want to secure the immediate future of the former Juventus coach by offering him a new deal. Sky Sports reports that talks could enter advanced stages before the team’s game against Manchester United next Monday in the FA Cup last eight.

There were reports that Serie A outfit Inter Milan had reached out to Conte’s representatives, as they wanted the tactician to help them re-establish. Inter are in sixth place in the Serie A, and coach Stefano Pioli has had to answer questions of a possibility of being replaced.

Pioli dismissed the claims as mere rumours, saying they were part of the game. He said he believes that he “can do well” for the club, and that the team has “important values” and “great young players” to get the job done.

Barcelona are also in the market for a replacement for Coach Luis Enrique after he confirmed that he would be leaving at the end of the season. Conte has been linked with the job but the reports have not gathered traction yet.

The Chinese owners of AC Milan tried to lure Conte ahead of his purported move to Stamford Bridge after his role with Italy. They failed but they are willing to try again, reports say. The deal, when completed, would push Conte beyond the reach of interested parties.
