Ander Herrera Regards Eden Hazard As The Premier League’s Best Player

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has suggested that Eden Hazard remains the best player in the Premier League despite the goalscoring exploits of Mohamed Salah this campaign. The Belgium international has contributed 16 goals and 10 assists this term and he could play a defining role when they the Blues contest United in the FA Cup final this weekend.

Speaking on The Big Interview with Graham Hunter, Herrera admitted that Hazard is still the best outfield player in the top-flight and he has not changed his opinion since arriving at Old Trafford, he said: “For me, Hazard is the best player in the league. In my opinion he’s the best player in the league, I’ve said that since my first day here.”

Meanwhile, the Spaniard went on to praise compatriot David de Gea, who has hand another stunning season with the Red Devils. The goalkeeper’s performances this term have already earned him the club’s Player of the Year award and he most recently managed to claim the Golden Boot after keeping more clean sheets than any other player in the top-flight. Adding on De Gea, Herrera said: “For me, David is the best by far. I think he has something that comes from god. God chose him in the goal and god chose Messi on the pitch.”

Both United and Chelsea have endured contrasting campaigns in the Premier League and the latter would probably be the most disappointed after they failed to make the top four. Nevertheless, both teams can end their respective season on a high with the possibility of winning the FA Cup at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Neither side has been in a good run of goal-scoring form ahead of the encounter but the Blues could have the advantage, should Romelu Lukaku be deemed unfit for United. The Belgium is currently into training after recovering from an ankle problem but there are no assurances of his comeback against Chelsea this weekend.
