John Obi Mikel appears to be on his way out of Chelsea

John Obi Mikel is one of the ironman players of Chelsea as the Nigerian has made over 350 appearances for the Premier League club and ever since joining Stamford Bridge in 2006, he has consistently been making over 20 appearances in every season but rumors are linking him with a move away from the English outfit.

Branislav Ivanovic and John Terry are veteran players who have reached the age mark of 30+ but despite their elevated age, both of them had their contract extended for 1 more season but this has not happened with John Obi Mikel as his future is still up for grabs.

Besiktas is rumored to be interested in signing John Obi Mikel during the summer and it’s believed that Chelsea are willing to let him go as the Premier League club is interested in signing N’Golo Kante from Leicester City and are preparing an offer in the region of £20million.

N’Golo Kante is a 25 year old French central midfielder who performs for Leicester City who managed to help out the Premier League club in winning the English title in his first season. The Frenchman has a release clause of £20million release and Chelsea is rumored to be willing to accept that price tag in order to sign him.

These are only rumors as nothing official in relation to the future of John Obi Mikel has been announced but it does seem likely that the Nigerian midfielder player will be seeing his way out of Stamford Bridge as he not form part of Antonio Conte’s plan and the recently announced manager does have better options at his disposal instead of the aging midfielder.
