Chelsea FC has defeated Norwich City in a Premier League match played at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Chelsea won the match by 4-1. This was the sixth victory for Chelsea in the ongoing Premier League.

With this victory, Chelsea has maintained its no. 1 ranking in the points table. Roberto De Matteo’s team has played 7 matches in the competition so far. Out of those 7 matches, Chelsea has won 6 and the remaining one ended in a draw.

Chelsea currently has 19 points in seven matches. The no. 2 team in the points table i.e. Manchester United is 4 points behind Chelsea.

The match against Norwich City was played at the home ground of Chelsea and more than 41,000 people turned up to support the Blues. At the end of the match, they would have been quite happy with the way their team played in the match.

It was Norwich City which took the lead in the 11th minute of the match against the run of play. Leo Barnett set up the goal by heading the ball into the penalty area. Grand Holt got the ball inside the box and he found the net with a flat shot.

Just three minutes later, Chelsea scored the leveller when Fernando Torres latched on the cross of Branislav Ivanovic and headed the ball home.

Norwich City got trailed by 1-2 in the 22nd minute. Frank Lampard was the one who scored the second goal for Chelsea. After the second goal scored by Chelsea, the Norwich players came under pressure and they started playing with defensive approach.

The score became 3-1 in the favour of Chelsea in the 31st minute. Juan Mata set up the goal with a fantastic long ball. Hazard got an easy scoring opportunity which he didn’t let go by. He played a powerful, angular shot and the ball flew past the Norwich goalkeeper straight into the net.

Norwich City got deeper into trouble when Branislav Ivanovic scored the fourth goal for Chelsea in the 76th minute. After that fourth goal, it became very difficult for Norwich to make a comeback in the match. There were no goals scored in the remaining time and Norwich lost the match.

Chelsea will play against Tottenham Hotspur in its next match on 20th of October at White Hart Lane.
